The weather was predictably unpredictable too. Horizontal rain on Friday limited on-track action during the opening couple of practice sessions and it left the teams unsure of tyre life when the sun shone on raceday. The perfect ingredients, you could say, for a brilliant race, and it didn't disappoint. There was a spectacular first-corner crash, Jenson Button took a brilliant victory and the living legend that is Michael Schumacher started his 300th grand prix.
Judging by the size of the crowd, F1 fans from around the world had missed F1 during the summer break. More than 100.000 people lined the circuit on raceday, which, given the Belgian penchant for waffles and chips with mayonnaise, created an overwhelming stench of grease and sugar!
I had a ball from start-to-finish, so please take a moment to enjoy my photographs from the weekend.
